Laveen Veterinary Center Team

  • Evan Ware,

Growing up in a Cleveland, Ohio, all of my neighbors knew which door to knock on when an animal issue came up.  Whether it was rounding up animals to bring to the vet, an emergent pet-sitting need and even trapping and releasing the raccoon that made its home under the deck - it seemed no job was too big.  As time passed, I realized that a career didn’t have to be a drag if I always did something that I loved.  I have never looked back.

One of the little secrets about our profession is the bond that develops with the pets and owners.  My career can be a wild ride of experiences and emotions, but at the end of the day, I frequently find myself grinning because our team has helped the lives of our patients.

Two aspects of my profession come to the top of my mind when people ask what I like best about my job - cases that are particularly challenging and require research and learning, and the relationships that I have developed during my years of practicing.

During my spare time I enjoy spending QT with the family, traveling, photography and sports.  Our family has a goal to visit one new national park every year.  Sunday nights at the Ware house mostly involves a mass of people, pets and pizza squished on the couch watching a movie.

Dr. Evan Ware studied for his undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University in microbiology and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!)

  • Amber Naig,

Dr. Naig is an Iowa native who relocated to the desert following graduation from Iowa State University in 2007. Growing up on a farm, she knew from a young age that she loved animals and cannot remember a time when she wanted to do anything but practice veterinary medicine.

Dr. Naig lives with her two small dogs, “Miles” and “Mason” and her two cats, “Gracie Lou” and “Hashbrown”. Her interests include internal medicine, behavior and ultrasonography. She also enjoys surgery.

“I am excited to be part of the team at Laveen Veterinary Center where there is such a huge focus on providing the most compassionate and complete care for people and their pets. I understand what an important role pets play in peoples’ families and look forward to providing the care they need throughout their lives.”

  • Tatiana Segura Elizondo,

I am originally from Costa Rica and I earned my veterinary degree from Escuela de Medicina y Cirugía Veterinaria San Francisco de Asís in my home country. I became accredited through the ECFVG program in order to practice veterinary medicine in the United States.

Growing up I wasn’t as lucky as other people and did not have any pets until my teenage years when I acquired an iguana and two turtles as a present. I became fascinated with these creatures and I fell in love with animals in general, which fueled my interest in this wonderful world of veterinary medicine. Nowadays, I enjoy seeing these exotic animals in their natural habitats, especially every time I have the opportunity to visit my country.

I currently enjoy working exclusively with dogs and cats. I love the fact that I can be part of the human-animal bond and that I can help both pets and their families. My areas of interest include surgery and ultrasonography.

I have two cats, Margarita, a gray longhair from Arizona and Toñita, an orange shorthair from Costa Rica. During my leisure time I love reading, gardening, doing puzzles, dancing, biking, and yoga.

  • Alexis
    Veterinary Nurse

I have lived in beautiful sunny Arizona all my life. As a child I loved watching and learning about animals in books and television shows. Animals have always fascinated and inspired wonder in me. I wanted to know everything I could about all types of animals that I could. I mostly grew up with dogs, but a few years ago I adopted 2 cats and I am glad I did. When I was younger I would help injured birds or find homes for stray dogs. That was a common occurrence for me and something my parents thankfully supported and nourished my love of animals.

Currently I have five animals. I have two adorable cats: Magnus Bane (2 years old) and Pandora (7 years old) and three amazing dogs: Zorro (my old man 11 years old) pug, Korra and Shorty (3 year old sister and brother) Yorkie-poodle-schnauzer mixes.

I am currently an undergraduate student at Arizona State University and I plan on becoming a Veterinarian. When I am not working or going to school I love to read, sing and spend time with my family and furry babies. I also love to laugh and there are definitely no dull moments when working with animals and great people.

Working here at Laveen Veterinary Center has reinforced what I always wanted as a child, to help animals in any way that I can and to do something that I am passionate about.

    Customer Service Representative

Animals have always been a big part of my life since I was a little girl. Growing up, my Mothers profession was a Veterinary Technician, so we have always had a big furry family under our roof. Animals have continually provided immeasurable pleasure to my life. Whether it's putting a big smile on my face, making me laugh, or simply having a special connection with them and knowing they feel the same way.

My children include two precious Dachshunds: Frankie and Luna, who are the loves of my life!   I also have 4 naughty cats: Kittens, Ducky, Lucy, and Mama. In my down time I enjoy seeing movies, spending time with my fur babies at home, or catching up with friends and family. I feel very blessed to be working here with our wonderful Veterinarians and a staff that share the same passions to contribute to their well-being like I do.

  • Holly M
    Veterinary Technician

I am proud to be an Arizona native and have lived in Phoenix most of my life.  Some of my favorite childhood memories are of the menagerie of animals we tended to right here in the city.  It was never a dull moment gathering eggs from the henhouse in the mornings, being chased by our duck Elsie, feeding the pigs, cuddling with the bunnies that always found their way to us, and playing with our many dogs.

As a youngster, I wanted to be a teacher but found my passion really invested in animals. I have been a Veterinary Technician for almost 14 years, and I've found I can still pursue my love of education through strengthening and building the human/animal bond with the wonderful clients and pet lovers I get to interact with. My interests within Veterinary Medicine include dentistry, client education, preventive medicine, and assisting in surgery.

I currently have 3 dogs and a goldfish; a 12-year-old Pit Bull named Puppers, a 15-year-old Chihuahua named Lil' Bit, a 6-year-old Pit Bull mix named Dezi, and Dr. Fish who is still swimming his best life 6 years after winning him at a county fair. In my free time, you can find me tending to my plants, getting crafty, and enjoying the outdoors.

  • Michelle B
    Hospital Manager

I am originally from California, where I attended UCLA and earned my BS in Physiological Science. Later, I moved to Seattle, WA, where I became a mom and attended Pima Medical Institute to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician.

I worked as a veterinary technician in small animal veterinary clinics for 8 years before moving into management. The most rewarding part of my job is being able to help my staff blossom into the very best veterinary professionals that they can be! I love participating in continuing education, and I hope to earn my CVPM certification in the not-too-distant future.

I have loved animals ever since I was a little girl. I would insist that my parents would set out food for all of the stray cats in the neighborhood, and, before long, I had lots and lots of feline friends! I have a particular soft spot for very old animals, especially large breed dogs. My husband and I have rescued three old dogs over the years, and we are so happy to be able to provide them a loving home for the rest of their days.

Today, we share our home with our two cats, Martin, a hilariously grumpy, Ragdoll-looking cat who was found in a trash can as a kitten, and Dave, the sweetest feral tabby cat you'll ever meet. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, riding my Peloton, and traveling around in our RV.
